Chile, a country plagued by economic inequality for decades, has erupted with student protests for a reform to the current education system.
Students are demanding for the government to put an end to the privatisation of universities and schools. Free education is another big issue.
Chile Rising is a great short film on the issue, punctuated by ‘Shock’ by Ana Tijoux. The track inspierd by the student rebellion, has become an anthem for the protestors. Because hip hop is about struggle, and that struggle is universal.
