They can’t use my music to advertise for Coca Cola-

Why do I have such respect for Lowkey?

I think it’s mostly due to the fact that after you hear him speak, you want to go read a book. You realize how ignorant of the incredible injustices in this world you really are.

Allende was democracy - Hypocrisy it bothers me/Call you terrorists if you don’t wanna be a colony/We used to bow down to a policy of robbery/Is terrorism my lyrics? When more Vietnam vets kill themselves after the war than died in it?This is very basic..One nation in the world has over a thousand military bases/They say it’s religion, when clearly it isn’t/It’s not just Muslims that oppose your imperialism/Is Hugo Chavez a Muslim? Nah.. I didn’t think so/Is Castro a Muslim? Nah.. I didn’t think so/It’s like the definition didn’t ever exist/I guess it’s all just depending who your nemesis is/Irrelevant how eloquent the rhetoric peddler is/They’re telling fibs, now tell us who the terrorist is

I’ve read and listened to these lyrics many times, and each time I hear them again it hits me again. He’s not trying to push his views on you, he’s simply giving you the other side of the story, the one the media never allows to be published. It’s true, can’t use his music to advertise for coca cola/ can’t use it to advertise for anything. Because really, why would a brand want to be associated with something intelligent and real? It seems an intelligent Arab man who voices his opinions isn’t a good role model for youth, but Chris Brown is.

Lowkey shares his knowledge in such a dope way. While his lyrics may seem too heavy at first, but you come back to it, and let it marinate. And do what he wants you to do all along, think.
